    Description

12.3 inches in diameter. Condition: this needs to be professionally cleaned. Made of brass.
I've never seen anything like this. It is the exact text and image of a seal, but made very large on a tray. Notice the border decoration, which was popular as decoration on Bezalel school damascene objects. I am guessing this was given as thanks to a donor to this institution, likely to someone in Germany (German Jews kept the Bezalel school going, because they never were profitable. Same goes for many Jewish institutions in Israel during the late 19th and early 20th century). Shown in the last two photos are seal images from the book "Jewish Tradition in Art The Feuchtwanger Collection Of Judaica".
