1917-24 Type 2-C Girl Scout MEMBERSHIP PIN, RARE Excellent Collectors Historians

TYPE 2C 1917 - 1924,
GIRL SCOUT MEMBERSHIP PIN
In 1917, this “Type 2” design was offered.  The
most important change was the addition of the G.S.
at the top of the trefoil which remains there even today.  Here are the similarities in the FOUR Type 2 varieties:  3 Stars, 4 Bars on the shield, NO cord from the tail to the arrows, Background is hammered looking, (although in different degrees,) and there is still NO ribbon in the eagle’s mouth. (This definition does not include the Type 2 pins with a Gold Content.)
Here is what makes 2C different from the other three varieties:
Back of the pin shows the design in reverse. (It has been proposed that this is an indication of Gold content, but there is no proof.)

Horizontal bars showing between the stripes on the shield. (shows best in the first picture.)

Both legs are clear, but ONLY ONE claw can been seen.
Compared to the other three variations, the NECK is longer and very thin.
All the Type 2 pins are rare if only because they are over 100 years old. This one looks great from the front and the back.  Bullet catch works fine.  I have not cleaned this.
