1948 Arab Israeli war middle east Army military Cartridge Loop Magazine Belt

Description

This military belt tooled in leather would appear to have been worn by a young, well-conditioned soldier as it seems that it might only fit around a 28" waist or smaller.  We purchased this piece at an estate sale in Palm Beach, Florida, USA. While we cannot prove this, anecdotally the previous owner stated that the belt was owned by his father who wore it during his military service in the 1948 war in the Middle East.
It is mounted inside a plexiglass display box measuring 38" x 14.5" x 3" with a bit of wear along the edges and two subtle scratches on the left front side.  The belt and box together weigh ten pounds.  With a wire attached to the back it is intended to hang but the belt could be removed from the box and displayed differently.
