BROWNIE WAGGGS PIN
PAINTED STYLE
This is the old Brownie TWO-finger salute that was used from the beginning in the 1920s up to the 1970s.  The Brownies were finally allowed to be
Brownie "Girl Scouts"
and use the THREE-finger salute as it is today.
This is sometimes called a Brownie Promise Pin, but it was
actually issued by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts or WAGGGS.
This pin was first available in this PAINTED style in 1955.
The picture does not do this justice; it really shows nicely in person because the hand is raised from the blue background.  These pins are more plentiful than the later issued -- enamel type -- but most of the early pins have chips in the background blue paint.
The pins that are offered here have no chips in the background, and thus are in Excellent, Like New Condition.
