British Military Uniform Buckle, two piece, features the Lion and Crown in the center. Around the outside edge it says "Dieu Et Mon Droit" which literally translates as "God and My Right".
Research shows that this buckle was used by the British Military up to 1902 and through the Boer War. Similar buckles are sometimes made of brass, this one is cast and has a pewter-like color. No markings on the back.
Nice condition, little wear to the face, sold as found, it has not been cleaned.
