    Designed by Republic in 1955, served until 1984. 833 built. The dominant aircraft in early Vietnam, used primarily to suppress anti-aircraft artillery, 335 were lost to enemy action, 61 operational losses. Credited with 27.5 victories vs 17 lost in aerial combat. Retired in 1984.
