DECALS: Good condition
Designed by Lockheed’s Clarence ‘Kelly’ Johnson for the C.I.A. as a reconnaissance (spy) aircraft, 13 were produced 1962-1964. Redesigned, it eventually became the SR-71 Blackbird. In 1976, the SR-71 surpassed the speed of the YF-12A becoming the Fastest ‘air-breathing’, manned aircraft ever produced. The YF-12A variant was a prototype Interceptor carrying 6 missiles externally. 3 produced in 1963.
