designed by Hermann Pohlmann for Junkers in 1935, 6000 manufactured 1936-1944. Combat debut 1937 during the Spanish Civil War. The primary German and Axis dive bomber throughout the War. The ‘G’ model, with 2 30mm cannons, larger engine, bombload increased, for anti-tank roll, was introduced on the Eastern Front in 1943. Stuka pilot Oberst Hans-Ulrich Rudel was the most decorated German of WW II.
