Designed by Fairchild in 1947, 1112 were produced at Hagerstown, Md. from 1949-1955. Henry J. Kaiser manufactured 71 at the former Ford B-24 plant at ‘Willow Run’, Belleville, Mich., most as the R4Q of the Marine Corps. The AC-119G gunship variant was armed with 4/6 barrel 7.62mm Miniguns.
