    Description

I know it's ugly, but i have been working on this for a very long time. A short scale bass, that sounds like an upright. I think i did it with this construction method and make a wide variety of instruments on this basic platform.
I tried to think of a cooler name, but looks like and oar, so be it. A rugged good sounding bass, might surprise you. A kid could learn on this, bigger people might like a small little rugged bass you can throw in the back seat and not worry about it

    FAQ
    A) I do make these, by myself. Each one is a little different.
    B) The finish is rough. A fine finish takes more time than building the instrument, and does not add to the tone. There is a whole crew of Wishbass Enthusiasts that refinish my basses. It just takes, time, sandpaper, and some Tru-oil. Ten Dollars and elbow grease.
    C) There are no truss rods. The necks are very stiff, due to the Purpleheart stringers. They are also a bit larger than usual. I find that a fat neck decreases the chance of carpal tunnel syndrome. You adjust the action by shimming under the bridge, it is not glued down. I set the action as low as possible, it is easier to raise the action than to lower it. To do that, simply file the bridge.
    D) I try to use domestic and renewable woods. Occasionally i have exotic wood left over from a custom order and use that.
    E) I do take custom orders, but not over eBay Messenger. Wishbass is unique.
After over 2600 basses sold world-wide, we wish to make the following claim. "These are without a doubt the best sounding basses on this planet. And they are about 10% of the price of Boutique Basses." The way we can do this is to sell direct, and use a simple minimal finish. If you can dig it, we can supply you a great sounding bass, real reasonable.
Thanks a lot to all the loyal customers who helped us rebuild, and keep on rockin... wish
