Players will sound better, play better and play more on a Breedlove Solo Series acoustic-electric guitar.
Side Soundhole
The Breedlove Solo Jumbo Cutaway CE acoustic-electric bass features the unique Side Monitor Soundhole that virtually puts your ears in the audience while you play. Hearing every nuance of your instrument—whether you’re writing, rehearsing or performing—gives you a sonic perspective that will bring out the best in your playing.
Red Cedar Top
Softer than spruce, with a warmer cast to its look and its tone, Western red cedar has less headroom for a heavy attack, but comes alive—with sweet harmonics and a wide tonal palette—for a lighter touch. Related to mahogany, it shares a focused sound, much loved by fingerstylists.
Ovangkol Back & Sides
From enormous West African trees, ovangkol echoes East Indian rosewood in many ways, while being more sustainable. It, too, has a compelling visual beauty, with natural black highlights streaking through complex, interwoven brown figures. And it sounds like it looks, sharing the wide tonal spectrum of rosewood, with its deep bass and articulate treble, but with added midrange fullness.
Breedlove Pinless Delta Bridge
Breedlove’s pinless Delta bridge is a distinctive element, with a sleek, modern contour that adds an extra bit of unexpected beauty to every instrument. But it also adds welcome functionality while anchoring great sound. Beginners love the fact that string changes are much easier without having to wrestle a traditional pin bridge, and professional players love it for the same reason. You'll no longer have to search for lost pins during a fast backstage string swap. And its low profile makes for perfect right hand damping.
The Breedlove Neck
Breedlove guitar necks feature a slimmer neck profile, which enables comfortable play, even with smaller hands. Unlike traditional dovetail neck joints that require major surgery for a neck re-set, it is easy to adjust the play action and neck angle with the Breedlove bolt-on neck and single-action truss rod. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish contributes to ideal playability. The finish process alone takes three days, including precise finish coat applications, fine sanding, and hand buffing and rubbing.
About the Breedlove Solo Series
Blissfully lose yourself in the sound of the Breedlove Solo Series. Designed to make the playing experience as intimate for you as for your audience, Breedlove Solo Series instruments feature a Side Monitor Soundhole that directs the warm, distinct tone of a solid red cedar top right to the player, without diminishing any forward projection. Exotic African ovangkol backs and sides echo the lush timbre of more common East Indian Rosewood, while African ebony fretboards and pinless bridges provide a touch of beautiful class. All are equipped with L.R. Baggs EAS VTC electronics. Specialty nylon-string, 12-string and fretted and fretless bass instruments are also included in the Solo Series, letting all players dive deeply into their individual sound.
