    Description

This neat old weight appears to be a dug find. I think this may be a silver coin / bullion weight? Unfortunately I do not know the location it was excavated.   D X for 10 Pennyweights with counterstamps / countermarks.  A lion, ewer (or laver pot/coffee pot) which per "Lions Ships and Angels" (Whithers) is the stamp of teh Worshipful Company of Founders.  The is also a stamp with initials - I have included a magnified view of this stamp in the images.  Perhaps I W...?
This weight is sized about 23mm & 15.1g.
