Unit - 601st Squadron - the Squadron was equipped with Spitfires in March 1942. It was based in Malta, then North Africa and then Sicily and finally Italy as the Allied army advanced.
Campaign - Sicily 1943
Markings - tan and brown camouflage with blue and red roundels on wings and red/white/blue/yellow roundel on mid-section with UFX andEP689 in black with other RAF id. Red nose and black with yellow propeller. RAF markings on tail.
Comes with attachable wheels, propeller, armament and stand.
Model - Spitfire Mk.Vb with Aboukir Filter (which was shorter and squatter and was more efficient, creating less drag especially in combat conditions). The 1440 hp engine greatly increased the power available at higher altitudes due to a new two-speed supercharger design.
Condition - new with minor wear on cardboard box.
