This is a 1997 made in Japan Fender VI Reissue. Sunburst finish over an Alder body with tortoise pickguard, Maple neck and nice dark Indian Rosewood fingerboard.  Bass has some minor nicks/dings/scratches and the hardware has taken on a nice vintage looking patina but overall this guitar is still in very good condition. This is a "V" serial number "Crafted in Japan" model and the original hang tag dates it to 1997.  The frets are in excellent shape and the bass plays cleanly up and down the neck with no buzzes or issues. All controls and pickups work as they should. This guitar is completely original and it comes in the Fender hardshell case and comes with the original trem bar and hang tags.
