Gildaxe custom retro-style 4-string bass

Description

This is a unique one-off custom 34" scale passive bass. The (roasted ash) body (shape) alludes to the mid 60's Teisco Del Rey, which riffed-off the earlier Fender Jazzmaster/Jaguar guitars - a very referenced guitar design and for good reason - it works! On top of that, the 1-1/4" thick body is ergonomically sculpted to provide superior playing comfort and weighs a very shoulder friendly 7lbs/4oz. (super comfy) The neck is a Limited Edition Epiphone Custom Shop T-bird style in Pelham blue with frets in like new condition and it's well balanced so no neck-diving. The tuners are quality Gotohs, the chrome-plated brass independent bridge units are used on Ibanez basses (string thru), it has 500k pots and two vintage-style T-bird nickel chrome hum-bucker pu's. It sounds big and bold like a T-bird, with an extra bit of clarity and definition that the roasted ash provides - it's really a great sounding bass (at any volume!) for any style of music. The beautiful Pelham blue and Tobacco finish on the custom body is the work of Pat Wilkins of SoCal - hands down one of the best finishers in the biz. He expertly matched the ECS Pelham blue neck and although the Tobacco colour on the body looks nearly black in low light - when in bright sunlight it shows its rich brown translucence. Scratch-plate/control-plate are custom cut and the "blue swirl" looks great in person and under stage lighting.
[for clearity - this is not a Teisco or Fender or Epiphone bass - I have no affiliations with Teisco or Fender or Epiphone and the body only stylistically alludes to a vintage Del Rey. The neck is in fact an Epiphone product, as noted]
