One Girl Scout 1940s Uniform ADULT & OFFICER COLLAR HAT PIN "GS" Insignia w/ Eyelet. And two
Girl Scout Membership Pin Eagle Arrows 4 Stars Type 5 Hallmark R (both) - All 3 pins are included together as a set.
They say an adult scout would have sewn this "GS Insignia" onto her uniform, either on a hat or coat/blouse collar, using the eyelets on each side.
However, the original owner, my Grandmother, Violet, didn't sew this on her collar instead she utilized the eyelets on each side by attaching the two membership pins to secure it to her collar. Here, pictured and for sale, as the original set, are three pins as my Grandmother, Violet, utilized them to attach them to her collar without the
necessity
of sewing them. Clever woman, bless her heart, never did anything the hard way if she could avoid it. LOL    (And besides, it made it easier to wash and dry her uniform) and (she wasn't the only clever woman to do this, but this information seems to have been lost to history)
