Baruch Ha’Levy Epstein
(1860-1942), was a son of R' Yechiel Michel Epstein Rav of Novardok (Oruch Ha’Shulchon). At the age of 13, he went to learn in the Volozhin Yeshiva for 5 years, where he was known as a prodigy. He received Semicha from his uncle the Netziv, the Beis Ha’Levy and R' Refoel Schapiro.
He married the daughter of R' Elozor (Lazer) Moshe Horowitz of Pinsk. He was the prolific author of various important seforim, including Mekor Baruch on the Yerushalmi, an autobiographical work titled Mekor Baruch, Tosefes Brocho and his magnum opus, the Torah Temimah on Chumash after which he is known.
