From the 1920s – comes this Charming PIN in the BUTTON STYLE showing a
Girl Scout in her Khaki Uniform, Khaki Hat and Black Neckerchief with a trefoil pin on the knot.
(This uniform was made from 1917 to 1927.)
This original button or pin from Whitehead & Hoag Co. is thought to be the FIRST Girl Scout Friendship pin issued by GSUSA that was NOT worn on the official uniform.
Another theory is that this pin was given as a Thank You for donating to the Girl Scouts’ building fund.

The PIN is very small, ½ inch in diameter.   There is a paper insert on the back of the button that says, "The Whitehead and Hoag Co., Buttons, Novelties & Signs, Newark N. J."
The front of this cute little pin is in LIKE NEW condition; the colors are bright and clear,
A collector would treasure this little memento, and the dated photo proves its age
