From the 1920s – comes this Charming PIN in the BUTTON STYLE showing a
Girl Scout in her Khaki Uniform, Khaki Hat and Black Neckerchief with a trefoil pin on the knot.
(This uniform was made from 1917 to 1927.)
This original button or pin from Whitehead & Hoag Co. is thought to be the FIRST Girl Scout Friendship pin issued by GSUSA that was NOT worn on the official uniform.
Another theory is that this pin was given as a Thank You for donating to the Girl Scouts’ building fund.
I’m including a 4 x 6 PHOTO of my poster
showing the same girl that is on this pin.
The PIN is very small, ½ inch in diameter.  Sometimes there is a paper insert on the back of the button that says made by Whitehead and Hoag, but this one is clear - and CLEAN.
The front of this cute little pin is in LIKE NEW condition; the colors are bright and clear, but I reduced the condition to V
ery Good due to the missing label.
A collector would treasure this little memento
