This 20-volume set was faithfully and photomechanically reproduced from the famous Vilna Editions printed in the 1870’s and 1880’s, and typeset by the Widow Romm and Brothers of Vilna. It contains the entire Babylonia Talmud consisting of 2,711 double-sided folio pages, and follows the typical pagination designed by the original Bomberg (c. 1483 - c. 1589) format of having the Gemara and/or Mishna centered and Rashi’s (c. 1040 - c. 1105) commentary on the inner margin and Tosafot (12th to 15th centuries) on the outer margin. It is also flanked by various marginal notations from various prominent Talmudists.
Included are many meforshim - including the
צמח צדק
(commentary by the 3rd Chabad Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn (September 9, 1789 – March 17, 1866) - which is generally not included in today’s modern printed editions.
Some wear and tear on outside binding, but the printed pages are near perfect excellent condition. This shas is looking for a new home, shul, or yeshiva, to be learned from again. Perhaps it will be you that will bring back life to this wonderful shas.
