Description
Up for auction is a mint Ernie Ball StingRay Special 4-string bass in the rare Vintage Tobacco finish. The Special, like the rest of Music Man's StingRay bass lineup, claims roots that run back to the 1970s, when Music Man was founded by Leo Fender. Armed with a fat and punchy sound, active electronics, and a delightfully chunky neck, it's no wonder the StingRay became a standard for bass players in multiple genres as Tony Levin (Genesis, King Crimson), Pino Palladino (The Who, Jeff Beck, etc.), Randy Jackson, and Flea, and many others.New for this model is an 18-volt active preamp, which extends the headroom and sustain to the stratosphere! And this model is outfitted with a maple fingerboard for a smooth, fast feel and added sonic attack.
