  • Condition: Very nice overall condition with no large chips, cracks or crazing, but some evidence of age/wear. Very clean inside and out, not appearing to have been used with a plant/dirt. There are tiny touches of wear/age wear/dark dots or discoloration along the outer bottom rim and underside base rim on this piece. There is a tiny low flake/tiny chip about 1/16 inch in width along the side top rim of the vase opening. On the underside base rim on which this piece sits, there is a small curved flaw line, about 1/8 inch in length (its possible that the pottery may flake off here a bit over time). It is possible there is other minor wear on the piece from sitting or dusting over many years, but nothing bad. As made, and as shown in the last image, on the interior base there is a line of some extra raised pottery. Also as made, on the backside hair, there is an oval brown spot where the brown hair coloring was applied heavier under the glazing.

    Description

Found out of a home, where the owner said it had been left there with other items in the house when they moved in during the 1990's.  We think this may be a 1980's reproduction head vase or headvase, but don't know for certain.  It has no label or stamped identification for manufacturer or country of origin.  While it is in the style of a headvase made by Enesco titled "Smart Girl", it is not that, having a different look.  However, this vintage piece is attractive in its own right, and would be fun on display or in use with flowers or a plant.
Made of pottery or ceramic, standing about 6 3/4 inches tall and about 4 5/8 inches wide at the base.  Fully formed or molded piece showing the shoulders, neck, face, head and hair of a girl who is wearing a very large, pale pink bow on the top of her head/hair.  The color of the bow in person is lighter or paler or less intense than appears in the images shot with the camera light (more like the images shot without the light).  There are molded circular indents on her white and blue dress as made, to be suggestive of a type of fabric.  Her hair is molded in long wavy or curled strands, colored brown with highlights.  This piece weighs 12 ounces unpacked.

Please examine the 10 images closely, using the zoom feature.  Two images have been included that were shot without the camera light.  The light causes white "hot spot" reflections on the smooth top glazed surface, and can bland out some details that can be seen better without the camera light, although these pictures appear yellower.
