OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER PIN
Adult Girl Scout Official Pin, 2001
This is an adult pin awarded to an OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER.  The original design from 1987 is without the lettering, but this design was issued 2001.  Many were happy to see the lettering making it clear that this award was special.  This is usually awarded at the Council level after being nominated by the local area.  It measures approximately 7/8 inch in diameter.  It is said to be enamel over metal so should be quite sturdy, but I think the red is fragile.  From the front, and to my eye, it appears to be new.  If you turn it to the side, you can see several tiny surface
scratches
.  Because you cannot buy this pin (it must be awarded,) this would be an excellent replacement for a lost pin or for the Collector or for display.
