We're offering this rare 1967 Baldwin 704 thinline 335-style electric bass in the Sunburst finish. A Vintage Guitar article says these 700 series hollowbodies were assembled with Italian components in Arkansas(neckplate states "Made in Italy"). There were two different serial number series. The first one(which this bass has) uses four digits which begin at 0100. Because these numbers duplicated earlier ones by Burns, it was soon changed to the more common second series starting at 71,000. The 700 Series instruments were built from late 1966 to 1969 so this one, being from the first serial number series. was most likely built in 1967(or late 1966). From the 1967/68 Baldwin catalog specs: Modified scroll headstock, carved bound Maple neck, Rosewood fingerboard, 30" scale, 20 frets, 16" body width, bar type bridge with overall height and individual saddle adjustment. Other features include bound top & back, Baldwin logo chrome covered pickups, original chrome "hat" knobs, pickup selector toggle switch, cool chrome Baldwin "B" trapeze tailpiece, double f Holes, and black Baldwin logo pickguard. This 54 old year instrument is in very nice clean vintage condition with just slight wear for its age. There is some "typical Baldwin-era finish checking" in the poly finish.The original hardshell case(pictured) with Baldwin logo is included. Please ask any and all questions before purchasing.
