Senior Girl Scout Volunteer Aide Bar RED 1950s Pin Service to HOSPITAL Collector

RED SENIOR AIDE BAR
1953-73 = Service to Hospitals
1974-79 = Service to Science & Technology
This is a RED Senior Aide Bar, one of the original eight.
It has a recessed PAINTED surface and is in Excellent Condition.
From 1953 - 1973 it was given for service in a Hospital.  From 1974-79 the service was for Science and Technology.  The Girl Scout catalog number is 9-178 meaning it is
painted with a J-hook catch.
Painted service bars are notorious for chipping until they finally made them with enamel in 1980.
This one appears to be unused, without any chips in the paint.
However,
it has darkened over the years especially around the gold trim.)
These little bars measure approximately 3/4 inch X 3/8 inch.  Red is especially hard to find.
