You are bidding on a Signature Jazz
Bass style Body . It is in used but good condition. There are no dings or scratches,
or scuffs. Some minor smudging in the front and back that can be easily buffed
out with a good buffing compound. There is a small paint chip at the lower set screw on the bridge pickup. The chrome plates are oxidized and will clean up well. The wood is beautiful solid alder and not
plywood like the cheap oriental imports (Alder is one of the premier sound woods
that is extensively used by the higher end guitar makers like Sadowsky and
Fender because of its sound qualities , it sounds warmer than the very crisp
ash), Neck plate and screws are included. The bridge has a string through body ability for added sustain and is quite versitile..The beautiful extremely hard, high gloss pitch black Polyurethane /
Polyester is as described above in good condition. All flaws (smudging, streaks) are shown in the pictures .The pick guard is a 4 ply
brown Tortoise with the foil on it.It can also be had with a black 2 ply guard. The pickups are the Signature Axis pickups
,hand wound ,epoxy potted and foam backed, quite punchy, and loud . There are
some stamping in the neck pocket, which state JB B 236/3 . The body weighs
6lb 12oz. The neck pocket is 2 .51" ( 63.94mm) wide, and 3/4 " ( 20 mm)deep and will take a Fender
style neck with those measurements, that is 1 1/16 thick on the heel. You need a
minimum of 1" thickness in your heel to make your neck work.It will take a 2
1/2" wide neck perfectly without splitting the shoulders of the neck pocket
which is a common Fender flaw. American fender bodies are a strong 5/8" deep. Make sure there is no depth issue with your neck. It will NOT take necks with
extended fretboard, unless you cut the pick guard to fit. Some necks I have for
sale will fit that body perfectly. If you need one just ask. I bought this when
the distributorship for Signature was up for grabs and I bought the whole thing.
This is a complete body , that means you supply the neck and strings. The
electronics do not work properly and is probably a result of oxidation since the
body is from 1990. The pups work but the pots are not as good as they could be,
That fact is reflected in the price. regular 0. If you have any more
