The Spector Euro4 LX has everything a discerning bass player could want. A comfortable, carved European alder and walnut body is capped with an eye-catching figured maple top — a balanced-sounding combination that melds warmth, sustain, and bite into a gorgeous tonal cocktail. An easy-playing 24-fret rosewood fingerboard rests upon a super-stable 3-piece maple neck. Experience maximum sonic impact by virtue of Spector’s acclaimed TonePump active preamp and active EMG P/J pickups. Spector TonePump Active Preamp with internal boost
The Euro4 LX includes a TonePump active preamp with an internal boost trimpot. This preamp employs JFET-based circuitry rather than op-amps, which yields many tube-like characteristics. When you overdrive an op-amp (something that happens at the peak of nearly every note you play), it clips and needs a moment to recover. This results in a perceptible tone loss. Like tubes, the TonePump’s JFET-based circuitry doesn’t do this. Rather, it softly distorts, producing a second harmonic that fuses seamlessly into your note. Beyond that, the first signal after the peak comes through loud and clear, with no recovery time required. The bassists here at Sweetwater are impressed with the clarity of this preamp — it makes a world of difference!
Active EMG P/J pickups are built to groove
The Spector Euro4 LX comes loaded with a pair of active EMG P/J pickups. This classic-sounding set delivers a massive array of tonal combinations.
