This was a stock Squier Bronco that looked rather pedestrian and boring. Not so now..I disassembled, sanded, primed, painted 4 coats of rattle sparkle, poly'd (5 coats), distressed the chrome, and replaced the stock pick-up with a cheapo dual rail bucker, and you have this wonderful little beast. The white pick-guard was also sanded painted and poly'd. The knobs are Supro amp knobs.
I did a pretty solid job on the paint. Definitely a rattle can, but done up to the guitars modest standards. I have about 5 coats of poly as well. There are a couple blemishes, and a bit of drippings from poly I just noticed on the sides. Not perfect, but soooo much better than it was.
The new pick-up does push a bit more than the puny little stock pick-up, but it does not compromise the punchiness these basses inherently have. I had to rout out the pich-guard just a tad to fit it in. The original P'up is included. The bass is on the heavier side for these. It feels solid. It's about two lbs more than another Bronco I have for sale currently listed on ebay. .
I was planning on keeping this around, but I have another project bass to sparkle up, so I'll see if this goes.
I spent some decent time, a few bucks in parts, and my creativity, so dont shoot emails regarding my asking price. If you want a sparkle Bronco, buy one up and do the job yourself. It is quite gratifying!
Bass only. No case.
