Steinberger XM XM2A Headless Bass Red.
This sweet bass sounds fantastic and plays great. The carbon fiber neck and wooden body are a killer combination. The low-E drop feature in the bridge doesn't work, but the bridge functions just fine as a regular fixed bridge. If you do toggle the drop lever thingy, nothing happens and the lever slides out of place. Kind of annoying but as a fixed bridge it's just fine. Originally, it had a different bridge altogether (the bass trans-trem not included) and you can see the extra route for it from the factory, but this one, also an official Steinberger bridge, was swapped in. It leaves a little bit of space around the original route if you look close. It looks like there's a chip in the finish between the pickups in the pics. It actually has finish over it, so it was probably professionally repaired at some point (most likely) unless it was a factory blemish (unlikely) but I always thought it gave it character to see the wood underneath. The pickups are EMG-HB active pickups, runs on a 9v volt battery so be sure to unplug it when not in use. It has the active HAZ labs EQ so the knobs are Vol, balance between pickups with center detent, active bass or treble boost with center detent.
The condition is pretty good, it's been played and shows it. There's some buckle rash and some scratches, but nothing severe. Pictures show the condition best. I love playing this and hate to let it go. I hope it goes to a good new home. Please ask any questions BEFORE bidding. I'm not a retailer, just thinning the heard so all sales final as is.
