Description
Rare, Vintage Tin Battery Operated Boeing 707 Jet Airliner made by Line Mar of Japan. The tin toy is Large with a 17.5" wingspan. The fuselage is 19" long. There are multiple dings, dents and scratches with dents or "crimp" marks along the wings and tail surfaces (see photos), but has clear and bright lithograph colors with varying shades of blue, silver and white. The Pan American livery is clear and crisp across the fuselage, wings and ruder. Some of the Litho detail includes yellow lithograph "landing lights" on the wing on either side of the fuselage, Litho flaps, ailerons, and trim tab detail on the wing trailing edge, cockpit windows, passenger windows, passenger doors, elevator and ruder control surface detail and of course the vintage Pan AM circle (world) with the American flag overtop. There is red Litho over the passenger windows near the front of the jet - "Jet Clipper America".
The Battery operations function perfectly and flawlessly. The fuselage holds 3 "D" size batteries to be placed as shown in the battery compartment, which is clean. The on/off switch on the wing works perfectly and when switched on starts a sequence with the port (left) furthest engine flashing red, then the inboard port flashes, next the inboard starboard (right) and finally the outboard starboard engine flashes. When all 4 engines are flashing the jet starts to move (taxi) and runs for a bit and then stops and the engine flash then reverses while each turn off, and then the sequence starts again until the switch is turned off. Operates flawlessly and despite the dings and dents displays very well as one of America's iconic jet airliners in history. Tin toy is all complete and functions.
