Description
A 17" X 5" X 4" box with an illustrated lid contains a pressed tin lithograph four propeller Clipper-style passenger commercial airplane with painted tin motor covers. Made in Japan byLINEMAR
, a division of
Louis Marx Toys
, in the Fifties. Box has obvious shelf wear and tears. Plane is 14½" long with a wingspan of 16½". Plane is marked with 1950s
Pan American
logos on fuselage and tail. Friction motors are part of the wheels and move freely and are suppose to rotate the propellers . Although all four interior prop shafts move, propellers move erratically or not at all due to wear to small rubber discs that cause the propellers to rotate. Being cheaply made and 70+ years of sitting in a box when not having children play with it, will do that. Plane's body shows only slight wear and is in very good condition.
