Painted Style, Hook Catch
The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) was established in 1948.
All Girl Scouts and All Girl Guides all over the world wear the pin with this symbol
(although it was updated in the 1990s.)
This pin was first available in this
PAINTED style in 1955
.
This style pin are more plentiful than the later issued, (enamel type,) but most of these early pins have chips in the background blue paint.
These pins that are offered have
no chips
in the background, and thus are in Excellent, almost new condition.  This p
ainted style with this J-hook are thought to be catalog #9-685.

There are many different catalog numbers, different card colors, different manufacturers and different catches, but until the 1990s, the design stayed the same.  If you are a collector and interested in the variations, send me an email and I'll try to answer your questions.  These pins would be great for a Thinking Day Gift showing your girls how the older logo and the current style differ.
